a. Issue One: Sarah Blankenbaker.

My photography deals with the identity of urban space, particularly that of Chicago. I'm concerned specifically with the development of space, past and present, and how that effects the character of the city. This set of photos addresses working class neighborhoods.

Bio
Sarah Blankenbaker is a photographer based in Chicago, Illinois. She is currently working on a project dealing with iconography in forlorn spaces. In particular, she is exploring the idea of a threshold where imagery, specifically that which is comercial and/or propagandic, loses its meaning. She earned BAs in mathematics and visual arts from the University of Chicago.
